A Powerful Culture-Changer

How much is our culture shaped by journalists, writers, reporters, and news media? A lot? A smidge? Not at all?

Truth is, journalism is a powerful culture-shaper.

According to the most recent Pew Research Center "State of the News Media" report, an increasing share of the money funding journalism is coming from mega-wealthy individuals and huge foundations. People like the following:

Jeff Bezos. He's the founder of Amazon. He bought The Washington Post last year for $250 million. Bezos' best-known political commitment so far has been his substantial support for gay marriage in his home state of Washington, so he seems like the perfect philosophical fit for The Post.

Pierre Omidyar. He's the billionaire founder of eBay, and he also is investing in an ambitious news organization. Already, he has populated his newsroom with the most liberal journalists available, pulling reporters and editors from The Nation, The Guardian, and The Washington Post.

Herb and Marion Sandler. They are the ones who bankrolled ACORN and other activist groups. Now they are pouring more than $100 million into ProPublica, a news organization that funnels agenda journalism to NPR, The New York Times, and other mainstream sources.

George Soros. He's famous for financing news organizations to promote his agenda, and continues to do so, despite being called out for it.

In addition, at the end of every National Public Radio (NPR) news program, the host reads a long list of massive foundations that fund NPR's coverage. You'd better believe those foundations are getting what they pay for.

These billionaires and foundations understand the culture-shaping power of journalism.

Do we?

I believe the Bible is the best foundation upon which to build a worldview. If you didn't know it, there exists a news organization whose mission is to report the news accurately and truthfully, using God's Word as their guide. The difference is, this trustworthy and excellent news organization does not have a Jeff Bezos, a Pierre Omidyar, a Herb and Marion Sandler, a George Soros, or numerous wealthy foundations funding them like at NPR.

Accomodations for Gender Diverse Students in Nevada's Schools

In 2017, The Nevada State Legislature passed SB225, a new law that provides rights, privileges, and protections for gender diverse students in Nevada schools. The Nevada Department of Education will vote on the new policy on March 30th. At this point in the process, it's not IF this new policy will be implemented in our kids' schools, but WHEN. Still, there are some things you should know. Every student is entitled to dignity, privacy, and respect. The problem is, this policy does not accomplish that. In fact, this regulation infringes upon students' right to free speech, as well as their right to privacy. It violates parental rights. It eliminates competitive fairness and equal opportunity in school sports. It raises troubling religious liberty issues, and micro-manages Nevada's diverse student populations with mandatory, one-size-fits-all state oversight. No Tolerance for Christians

All eyes were on Rocklin, California on Monday, September 18, as parents and protesters gathered at a school board meeting to decide on some ground rules moving forward. After a kindergarten teacher read two books promoting transgenderism in children to her class last year at Rocklin Academy, and then orchestrated a trans boy's "reveal," as you can imagine, the 5-year olds were confused by this and afraid, and their parents were horrified that they had not been alerted to the discussion beforehand. Unfortunately, no change will be made regarding how Rocklin Academy handles the subject of transgenderism in their school. Parents will not be notified when instruction on the topic occurs, nor will they be offered the option of opting their child out of such instruction.
